Where will my sessions take place?

I can take sessions at my Office which is connected to my home in Milton Combe near Yelverton. There is an option to hire a room nearer to your location. I lead Walking and Talking Sessions at suitable locations.

How much do sessions cost?

The cost of each session, whether Face to Face, Via Teams/Zoom or by telephone are priced at £45.00 or £30.00 if in Proof of Benefits or Pension. These prices are based on a One Hour Session.

What can I expect from my first session?

Your first session will be a consultation. This will give us the opportunity to establish whether we are the right fit for each other. You will then have space to talk about your choice of coming to for counselling. This is where you are welcome to decide whether you’d like to attend more sessions.

What is your availability?

I generally work from Monday’s to Friday’s between 9am – 12pm and 1pm – 7pm. I am flexible to take appointments on Saturday’s between 9am and 12pm.

Is Counselling confidential?

All that you discuss in a counselling session will be confidential. There are a couple of exceptions which are detailed in our working contract.

Do you hold sessions online?

I do hold sessions online via Microsoft Teams or Zoom, I also offer Telephone Counselling.

Is there a limit to how many sessions I can have?

I do not have a limit on how many sessions I can provide for my clients. I recommend a minimum of 8 or 10 sessions, however, I’d say that longer term work would benefit my client in particular with trauma based or issues.

What type of therapy is available?

I trained in Integrative Therapy which combines Person Centred Approach, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Gestalt Therapy. I am developing a use for Walking Talking Therapy and it’s connection with nature.

Am I allowed to express my feelings during counselling sessions?

Yes, therapy is a safe space for you to explore your feelings, and that includes sadness or anger.

What if I don’t know what to talk about during my counselling session?

I will support you as explore your needs or goals so that we can discuss them together.

What happens if I don’t feel comfortable in working with you?

It is important that you find a good fit. I am open that you can discuss your concerns with me, if you feel that you cannot work with me, I’d be happy to suggest another therapist.
